NICK WITNEY - RIP
Gillingham Anchorians RFC is saddened to learn of the passing on Nick Witney on 30 April - just 2 days short of his 50th birthday. Nick, who joined the Royal Marines after leaving The Howard School in 1980 fought in the Falklands Campaign in 1982. He was a truly inspirational team mate on the rugby field. He did not play rugby until the 3rd year at school, but, within a year was selected to play for Kent Schools. He also played for Anchs, being a fearless openside (think 'Mad Dog' Lewis Moody!) and was a thoroughly decent man. On behalf of the Club, I extend our condolence and sympathy to his wife, Ann, his family and friends.
Funeral details: Monday 21st May at midday Barham Crematorium, Canterbury Road (A260), Barham, CT4 6QU. Thereafter, at Grove Ferry Inn, Upstreet Nr Canterbury, CT3 4BP

Ex-1XV Team Captains Photo PleaAs you are probably aware Alex Browne’s Dad – Michael is an excellent painter and he has kindly offered to do paintings of 1st Team Captains past and present for display in the club. In order for him to do this he needs photos or newspaper clippings to work from.
If anyone could help him out you can email him @ michaeljtbrowne@hotmail.co.uk or hand them to Alex when you see him at the Club.
For those of you who haven’t seen his work take a look in the club shop for some examples.
