Gentlemen,
As we approach the 2009/2010 playing season I would like to take this opportunity to communicate some important items.

Firstly, to announce that the Club have, through a rigorous selection process, appointed a new coaching team in Alex Browne (Head Coach) and Adam Webb (Coach). Equally if not more importantly to thank Clive Heather for all his hard work, effort and enthusiasm in leading the coaching activity over the past seasons for us. Clive's talents, dedication and knowledge have been invaluable to Anchorians as a  club and on behalf of the committee I would like to publicly thank Clive for his leadership over the past seasons. Please join us in these thanks.

We also have a new First XV Captain in Adam Davison, who has already started to organise some light training activities on Tuesday's and Thursday's at the club. As First XV Captain, Adam has a huge responsibility and has fully immersed himself  working with the committee and players alike for the benefit of the club and the playing membership. The start of official summer training will be communicated to you all shortly and I urge you all to make an effort in supporting the exciting new faces in coaching and team captaincy for the coming year..
Kind Regards Paul Knight Club Captain

Dear All

The new season is here, I know it's still August but let's face it we haven't had a summer the ground is soft and due to the credit crunch we can't afford a holiday!

This season will be the best in years due to the restructuring of the leagues we will be playing a few more league games, this means more players capable of playing 1 st team.

It is my opinion every 1 st team player should train twice a week to have any chance of performing at the level required and with the new law changes (ELV) fitness is paramount.

Led by Richie Collins we have a strong capable group of players who when playing as a team make for a formidable side capable of beating the best in this league.

The 2 nd team will this year need to comprise of young players aspiring to play 1 st team and experienced players capable of playing 1 st team to create a squad of players able to slot in if required by the 1 st team while also mounting their own junior league campaign

The 3 rd string led by John Cottam will be a core of experienced players charged with the job of guiding inexperienced or young players looking to move up through the teams, while competing in their own league.

We also have a 4 th /Vets team this year which is purely a fun orientated team competing in the evergreen cup and various friendly fixtures.

Our youth section is going from strength to strength organised and run by Si Ferguson, Carl Cooper, Adam and Ben Davison with some exciting prospective players for the future.

The Anchorians welcomes all players of all levels as you can see we cater for most ages and abilities.

Training is on Tuesdays and Thursdays 7.15 for a 7.30 start all welcome our head coach is Clive Heather Tel 07936380186

It just remains for me to wish everyone the best of luck for this season.

Phil Dedman, Chairman, Gillingham Anchorians RFC.

VETs won their home match against Cranbrook 19-17 Anchs Vests have their 1st match in the Evergreen Cup against Erith at Erith on Sunday 12th October. Kick off time to be confirmed but should be at 3pm. Matt Allen is looking to get out as strong and heavy side as possible. No problem with the weight but fitness will be an issue!
